Hi my name is Andrea and I start painting with oil colors in 1999. I really love painting and one of my passion is realism. Rendering the image that I would like to reproduce as close as possible to the reality is my objective, especially in the portraits. I paint mostly from picture that I take personally but can use some ideas from other images to reach for example the composition of the surrealistic paintings as The Ghost, The Pain etc. Sometimes draw and I like to draw different subject but mostly portraits.
I like a lot of art movements like realism, impressionism, surrealism and fantasy, I like the others movements too, but these are my favourites. Well fantasy is not considered a real movement or art with the uppercase A but for me there are a lot of talented artist in that field too. I usually paint scenic because I like the scene where there is at least a human subject in it but I can do landscapes or cityscapes too, it's all depend by the mood and the moment.
Some information about the paintings. All the painting are painted on canvas board because I find that the material is much stronger then traditional canvas, only lately I start to paint on gesso panels which I think is more resistant (maybe a little subject to the humidity because the panel is wood made but with a little care is for sure better then canvas) than canvas board. All the paintings are framed because I think the frame is part of the whole image and it gives the final touch that a painting need to be complete. |
