Mimetism is something that maybe humans has lost long time ago. Animals instead have to defend themselves against every kind of predators especially us. There are a lot different kind of animals that use mimetism as self defence and others use it for hunting. Obviously the colours have to match the environment in which they live. The alimentary chain is the cause of all, big fish eat small fish and so on. This is the circle of life. |
|
Every animal has it's kind of design, stripes, circles and some animals change their mimetism depending by the season. Others change colour almost in real time depending by the rock or branch on which they live. |

These kind of frogs can be found at some distance from the water, they are resistant to cold climates and live in Great Britain, Europe and northwestern Asia. Above right you can see the Speckled Bush Cricket (Leptophyes punctatissima) similar to the leaves colour. It is well camouflaged among tall vegetation, grass and shrubs. Long-legged cricket doesn't fly but jump and eat a wide range of fresh vegetation. |

You can see how the design on the body mix with the bark of the trunk. The rabbit above right is the Old World Rabbit or Domestic Rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) can be found in dry areas near sea level with soft, sandy soil (for easy burrowing) and all over Europe.
